Notification Icon

  • Bell icon in header shows notification count badge
  • Red badge indicates unread notifications
  • Number displays total unread count
  • Icon pulses/animates when new notification arrives

Opening Notifications

  • Click the bell icon
  • Notification panel slides open
  • View all recent notifications
  • Unread notifications are highlighted

Types of Notifications

Inventory Alerts

Low Stock Warnings: Product quantity below reorder level

  • Shows product name and current quantity
  • Reminds you to restock soon
  • Links directly to that product in inventory

Out of Stock: Product quantity reached zero

  • Immediate attention required
  • Prevents order fulfillment issues

Restock Reminders: Based on sales velocity and current stock

Order Notifications

Order Approved: Your order has been approved by admin

  • Shows order number and amount
  • Payment information if applicable
  • Link to order details

Order Shipped: Your order is on the way

  • Includes tracking information
  • Estimated delivery date
  • Link to shipment tracking

Order Delivered: Order has arrived at your location

  • Confirm receipt prompt
  • Link to mark as received

Order Rejected: Order was not approved

  • Reason for rejection
  • Next steps or corrections needed

Payment Notifications

Payment Due: Reminder for upcoming payment deadline

  • Amount due
  • Due date
  • Payment link

Payment Received: Confirmation of payment processed

  • Amount paid
  • Payment method used
  • Receipt available

Payment Failed: Payment processing issue

  • Reason for failure
  • Action required
  • Alternative payment options

Sales Report Notifications

Report Approved: Your sales report was accepted

  • Report date
  • Approval by admin

Report Rejected: Sales report needs correction

  • Reason for rejection
  • Which details to fix
  • Resubmission reminder

System Notifications

  • Account Updates: Changes to your account or profile
  • Security Alerts: Unusual login activity or password changes
  • System Maintenance: Scheduled downtime or updates
  • Feature Announcements: New features or improvements

Notification Details

Each notification shows:

  • Icon: Visual indicator of notification type
  • Title: Brief summary of the notification
  • Message: Detailed information
  • Timestamp: When the notification was sent (e.g., "2 hours ago")
  • Action Buttons: Quick actions you can take
  • Status: Read/Unread indicator

Managing Notifications

Mark as Read

  • Click on a notification to open details
  • Automatically marks as read
  • Badge count decreases

Mark All as Read

  • Click "Mark all as read" button at top
  • Clears all unread indicators
  • Badge resets to 0

Delete Notifications

  • Hover over a notification
  • Click the X or delete icon
  • Notification is removed from list

Filter Notifications

  • View all notifications
  • Filter by type (Inventory, Orders, Payments, etc.)
  • Filter by read/unread status
  • Search for specific notifications

Notification Actions

Quick Actions from Notifications

  • View Order: Jump directly to order details
  • Restock Now: Go to inventory item to add stock
  • Make Payment: Navigate to payment page
  • View Report: Open referenced sales report
  • Confirm Delivery: Mark order as received

Inventory Stock Notification Details

Low stock notifications include:

  • Product name and image
  • Current quantity
  • Reorder level threshold
  • Recommended reorder quantity
  • Link to product in Shop to reorder
  • Link to edit inventory item

Notification Settings

Preferences (if available)

  • Choose which notifications to receive
  • Set notification frequency
  • Enable/disable email notifications
  • Enable/disable push notifications (PWA)

Notification Delivery

  • In-App: Always shown in notification panel
  • Email: Important alerts sent to your email
  • Push: Browser/PWA push notifications (requires permission)

Best Practices

  • Check notifications daily
  • Act on low stock alerts promptly
  • Confirm order deliveries quickly
  • Review rejection reasons carefully
  • Keep notification count manageable (mark as read)
  • Enable email notifications for critical alerts
  • Set up push notifications for time-sensitive items

Notification History

  • Notifications are kept for 30 days
  • Older notifications are automatically archived
  • Can view notification history for reference
  • Deleted notifications cannot be recovered
